John is a co-founder of IWS Equity and has over 30 years of real estate banking and capital markets experience in both the U.S. and Canada. He is also the President and CEO of Institutional Mortgage Capital, a Toronto-based commercial real estate lending platform. John’s industry experience includes senior positions at Merrill Lynch’s commercial mortgage businesses from 1997 to 2009 (initially in Canada and then in the U.S.), and prior positions with J.P. Morgan, Salomon Brothers, and McKinsey & Co. John holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pennsylvania, a Masters of Business Administration from Wharton School, and a Masters of Science in Computer and Information Science from the School of Engineering and Applied Science.

Paul is a co-founder of IWS Equity and has over 30 years of real estate financing experience, including 20+ years as a mortgage broker and 13 years as a commercial mortgage lender with Sun Life. He is also the founder of Wadsworth Mortgage Capital, which is a dominant Canadian market brokerage and lender since 2012. Paul sits on advisory committees of two private debt funds and has acted as a direct lender for land development, high rise condominium and rental construction, low rise development and retail repositioning. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from York University and a Bachelor of Business Management from Ryerson University.

Ken is a Senior Managing Director and Equity Partner. Ken, as part of IMC’s senior management team, is responsible for managing IMC’s relationships, capital raising and fund management activities for its growing debt and equity businesses. Ken is a member of IMC's investment committee and works alongside the co-heads of IMC’s origination and portfolio management platform. Ken was formerly at TD Bank where he was the Head of Real Estate Corporate Banking at TD Securities from 2014-2023. In total, Ken was with TD Bank Group for over 23 years and within the Real Estate Corporate and Investment Banking team for 18 years. At TDS, he was responsible for a team of over 20 professionals covering all sectors of the real estate space across Canada and the US. Ken and his team originated, advised and risk managed over $100B in debt transactions and actively built leading relationships with both large and small public and private real estate owners and operators across North America. Ken is a Board Member and Chair of the Affordable Housing Committee at Fred Victor, one of Toronto’s largest homeless site providers, and he is also on the Advisory Board of Rally Assets, an impact investment and advisory firm. Ken is a CFA Charterholder and is a graduate from the University of Windsor.

Melissa is a Managing Director at IWS Equity and played a pivotal role in launching the IWS Equity platform in 2019. She is responsible for sourcing and executing new investments and management of IWS's existing portfolio. Prior to IWS, Melissa worked at Institutional Mortgage Capital for 10 years, where she was responsible for the issuance of $1.6 billion of commercial mortgage-backed security offerings into the capital markets. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Karran is the Chief Financial Officer and has played an important role at IWS Equity since its inception in 2019. Karran is also a Vice President and the Corporate Controller at Institutional Mortgage Capital and has been there since 2012. He has over 15 years of real estate asset management and banking experience in the US and Canada, including Ernst & Young LLP and Deloitte LLP where he specialized in audit and advisory services. Karran is a CPA, CA and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Rob joined IWS Equity in 2022 as an Associate. He is involved in all aspects of acquisitions and dispositions and is responsible for the management of IWS’s existing portfolio. Rob has varied experience in the Canadian commercial real estate industry. Prior to IWS, Rob worked at Slate Asset Management and Brookfield Asset Management, where he specialized in asset management, equity investments and private fund management. Rob also worked at Deloitte LLP as an auditor in the real estate asset management group. Rob is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia.
